Die Nominierungen in 26 Wettbewerbskategorien für die 78. Antoinette Perry Tony Awards® des American Theatre Wing wurden am Donnerstag (1. Mai) in New York von den Tony-Award-Gewinnern Sarah Paulson und Wendell Pierce bekanntgegeben.

Die Nominierten wurden von einem unabhängigen Komitee aus 54 Theaterfachleuten ausgewählt, das vom Tony Awards Administration Committee ernannt wurde. Die Tony Awards 2025 werden von der Broadway League und dem American Theatre Wing verliehen.

Die 78. Tony Awards kehren nächsten Monat in die legendäre Radio City Music Hall in New York City zurück. Die Tony Awards des American Theatre Wing werden von der Tony-, Emmy- und Grammy-Preisträgerin und dreifachen Oscar-Nominierten Cynthia Erivo moderiert und am Sonntag, den 8. Juni 2025 LIVE an beiden US-Küsten auf CBS Television Network und in den USA auf Paramount+ gestreamt.* CBS und Pluto TV präsentieren „The Tony Awards: Act One“, eine Vorschau mit exklusiven Live-Inhalten auf die 78. Tony Awards.

Legitime Theaterproduktionen, die in der aktuellen Saison in einem der 41 teilnahmeberechtigten Broadway-Theatern Premiere feierten, konnten für die Tony-Nominierungen berücksichtigt werden. Die Teilnahmefrist 2024/2025 begann am 26. April 2024 und endete am 27. April 2025.

Die Tony Awards werden in 26 Wettbewerbskategorien von 840 ausgewählten Tony-Wählern aus der Theaterszene vergeben.

Eine begrenzte Anzahl von Tickets für die Show ist für die Öffentlichkeit erhältlich. Tickets sind ab 595 $ für Plätze im zweiten und dritten Zwischengeschoss auf TonyAwards.com und Ticketmaster.com erhältlich.

Die Tony Awards werden in Zusammenarbeit mit Tony Award Productions, einem Joint Venture des American Theatre Wing und der Broadway League, sowie White Cherry Entertainment produziert. Ricky Kirshner und Glenn Weiss sind ausführende Produzenten und Showrunner für White Cherry Entertainment. Weiss wird die Regie übernehmen.
